The following is the text of an announcement released to the London Stock Exchange by Royal Dutch Shell plc on 29th December 2005.

On 29th December 2005, Royal Dutch Shell plc ("the Company") received notification from UBS AG, pursuant to Section 198 Companies Act 1985 that at the close of its business on 22nd December 2005, UBS AG, acting through its business group and legal entities detailed below, had an interest in 125,643,021 "A" shares of Euro 0.07 each in the Company being 3.19 per cent of the issued "A" share capital held as follows:

*UBS AG London holds 46,634,794 of the Relevant Shares by virtue of section 208(5) of the Act.
